Stoke Newington Area Guide

In the London Borough of Hackney, ‘Stokey’ as it’s often referred to by its residents was once a hamlet. Church Street is the original heart of the ancient parish, and today is overflowing with quirky shops, trendy pubs, diverse restaurants and independent businesses.

Stoke Newington has undergone huge changes in recent years, with many of its period properties being bought up and refurbished. One-bedroom properties in the area are always popular with first time buyers, and, thanks to the good schools in the area, family homes are also in big demand.

Stoke Newington does well for open space, given its size. If you fancy getting active, you can canoe or sail on West Reservoir, or walk around the lake in Clissold Park and visit the menagerie. Stoke Newington’s population now also has access to Overground trains at Dalston, providing a route to Shoreditch and Docklands, as well as to South London and Clapham Junction.
Whether you’re looking to live near a park, a particular school or bus route, Niche Estates can help you find your ideal property.
